It’s really dependent on the size of the installation but the design process phase including initial proposal, District Network Operator (DNO) application and contract agreement can take up to 16-20 weeks, this is largely because the DNO has up to 65 working days (13 weeks!) to respond. On site works are normally completed within 2-8 weeks.

Systems under 1000kW can be generally installed under your permitted development rights, providing the building is not in conservation areas or listed. We will investigate requirements at the start of the process to provide you with the correct advice and ensure that the planning approval is progressed correctly.

Although the Government doesn’t offer any grants at this time there are various local grants that are available depending on the location and sector of your business. There is also the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) where you are paid a guaranteed amount for excess generation. On certain size installations we can offer an improved rate over the SEG. There are also potentially significant savings that can be made on your corporation tax when installing solar with a 100% capital allowance available (providing the £1million annual investment allowance cap has not been exceeded). We keep ourselves regularly updated on the availability of grants and tax rules to find you the best savings.

We only use tier 1 panels and quality controls. Your panels are warranted for 25 years of performance. Often solar panel systems can exceed this, but this is typically how long you would expect your system to last.

You can sell the energy produced to your tenant at a reduced rate. Your tenants get the benefit of energy savings, and it also generates you an additional stream of income.
